I took the handmade pledge.

I Took The Handmade Pledge! BuyHandmade.orgI just signed up on and took the handmade pledge.  I plan to make as many of my gifts as possible this Holiday season, and what I don't make myself, I plan to buy from local crafters.  Will you take the handmade pledge?

  1. Cool! I haven't made the handmade pledge to buy handmade but we have decided to MAKE homemade presents this year as much as sister is getting some ceramic soap dishes (I teach ceramics) and we're raking leaves for my dad, and I'm teaching my mom PhotoShop. Everyone is thrilled with these gifts...and they're fun :)

  2. I took that pledge too! Now I'm working on all the things I'm making for my family. It's kind of fun, actually, to put the extra time and effort into making things for people.

On another note, you may be wondering what happened to my blog. All I can say is that it was getting kind of lame/boring and I decided I needed to either fix it or delete it. So, for now it's not doing anything and I've made it unavailable for viewing. Sorry, it was just too embarrassing. So, I'll just keep commenting on yours since I love your blog!

  3. Hey Carolyn,
Yes, I was wondering what happened to your blog! Glad to see you're still around. :) For the record, I thought your blog was great! I go through slumps too, where I wonder if anyone is actually reading my blog. lol. It's hard to keep things interesting all the time! I hope you get something new up, I've enjoyed reading.

Ya, the handmade pledge didn't seem to specify making things yourself, but I figure it's just as good, if not better, than buying handmade. I think a gift has so much more meaning when it has your own love put into it.
